What is a database-driven site?
The Content Management Tool works differently. Instead of building your Web site on a time-consuming page-by-page basis, it builds your site by drawing on a library of templates and pieces of content you manage.
The process is simple: first, design your site's basic navigation through the creation of a system of menus that allows viewers to find the pages they want on the site; next, create the pages for your site using a set of CMT templates; finally, create and place the content you want, from articles to calendars to slideshows. Or you do it in an order that better suits your site needs -- it's up to you.
All the information is stored in a database, so you can update and/or rearrange content without ever having to start from scratch. The CMT provides the tools for you to keep your content updated and current right from within your favorite Web browser. Want to change the page of information displayed when a specific menu is clicked? Simply log-in to your site as an editor and use the CMT tools to select a different page. Want to change the contents of an article? Open the article editor, make your changes, click save and the information displayed on the web page is automatically updated.
