Creating, editing, and deleting menu items
Create a new menu item:
To add a new 1st tier menu item, type the menu name in the Add a new menu item edit field, then click Submit new menu. You will see your new menu displayed in the navigation items on the left.
To add child menus (2nd - 5th tier), click a menu item on the left to select it. A new page will load with the parent menu's name in the Menu name field. Enter a name for the new child menu in the Add a new menu item field and click the Submit new menu item button. After clicking this button, your new menu item will be displayed below the item you selected.
NOTE:Clicking Update will not add your child menu. That button exists for purposes of editing existing menu items.
NOTE: After adding or modifying "child" menus, you must click the Menu editor link in the Site manager navigation bar to return to the top level and add additional 1st tier menu items.
Edit a menu item:
To change the name of a menu item, click the menu item on the left to select it. Type the new name in the Menu name field then click Update. The navigation item on the left will be updated with your new menu name.
Delete a menu:
To delete a menu item and its associated children, click the menu item on the left to select it, then click Delete. A dialog is displayed requiring confirmation that you do indeed want to delete the selected menu. If you want to continue with the delete action, click OK to return to the Menu editor with the selected menu item removed from the site navigation.
If you do not want to continue with the delete action, click Cancel to return to the Menu editor with no changes.
NOTE: When you delete a menu, you also delete all child menus associated with the deleted menu. If you want to retain the child menus, move them under a different menu or move them to a higher level (see Menu organization for information on moving menus).
